Industrial Cartoning

Industrial Cartoning
A cartooning machine picks a single piece from a stack of folded cartons and erects the carton by opening its pre-glued side seamed blank. It then proceeds to insert the products in the carton, manually or automatically, and then closes and seals the carton with either tuck or glue.
Hand-load
Hand-Load cartoners seal one side of the box shut, and then the open end is loaded with product by hand. Once loaded, the top lid can either be left opened, automatically tucked, or glued shut.
Automatic
To improve efficiency, the Xpallx cartoner can include an in-feed conveyance system automatically accumulate product and fill it into the carton directly, thus eliminating the need for human interactions, a step closer to full automation.
Horizontal Cartoner
Horizontal Cartoners, also known as End-Load Cartoners, erect boxes fed into them by a magazine feeder, then proceed to open each carton horizontally and fills it either manually or automatically. The cartons are picked off and opened using a reciprocating arm at slower speeds or an orbital arm at higher speeds. In order to be filled, the opened cartons are then placed in pockets on a carrier chain and conveyed through the loading area. Generally, both ends are left open during loading, one to fill the carton and the other to prevent an air cushion building up during loading, especially of tightly conformal products. Once loaded, the end flaps are folded and tucked or glued, depending on the application. The inner major flap could be closed by guide rails and the hot melt glue can be applied with a spray nozzle. A pair of side belts provide compression on the flaps while the glue cools and sets up. Finally, the finished carton is then discharged for bundling, wrapping or case packing. Our cartoners serves our customers across a wide spectrum of industries, including pharmaceuticals, food, confections, and personal care products. They are usually not suited for any unbagged loose products such as individual candies due to the difficulty of loading. There are generally two types of horizontal cartoners, namely Horizontal Tuck Cartoner and Horizontal Glue Cartoner.

Vertical Cartoner
When it comes to vertical cartoners, the hopper magazine is loaded with carton blanks just like the horizontal cartoner, but the vertical cartoner pulls these carton blanks and erects them vertically instead. The carton then also loaded with products vertically, making it more suitable for specific types of products. The product is also inserted either manually or automatically, and most often, it is inserted from the top of the cartoner. This makes them ideal for packaging bare products such as cosmetics, and those that can be supplied by gravity. There are generally two types of vertical cartoners, namely Vertical Tuck Cartoner and Vertical Glue Cartoner.
